DESCRIPTION:Young Artist Series \nPercussionist Hsuan Wu was born in Taiwan. She recently finished her postgraduate studies with distinction at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire\, where she also received the Anthony Cross Memorial Prize.  An experienced collaborative musician\, she enjoys working with ensembles including the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group\, the Thallein Ensemble and Perano Duo. \nHer performance to close our Young Artist Series will be a feast for both the ears and eyes – a programme of exciting repertoire for marimba\, tom-toms and a variety of other drums\, as well as multi-media and body percussion! \nSponsored by Margaret Cooper Ramsell \n BOOK TICKETS

SUMMARY:THE DOORKNOBS & guests: Jazz Through the Decades
DESCRIPTION:In a unique collaboration between Lichfield Festival\, Young Enterprise and King Edward VI School\, students of KES have formed an arts company\, KESFEST23\, to organise and run this event. \nThe Doorknobs\, a renowned Aldridge-based Big Band\, will perform jazz\, swing and big band favourites from the 30s to the present day\, supported by invited (surprise!) guest vocalists. From Take the A Train to Tequila and from Ella to Elvis\, there will be something for everyone on what will be an unforgettable journey through the great tunes of the Jazz age. \nKESFEST23 has been formed with a charitable purpose\, and all proceeds from the event will go towards offering musical opportunities to disadvantaged local schoolchildren\, removing financial barriers to give them access to instruments and tuition. \n \n  \n BOOK TICKETS
