Beacon brings cultural venues, local creatives, educational settings and community groups together to celebrate and support creativity within Lichfield District.
Beacon is a new Local Cultural Education Partnership for Lichfield, being spearheaded by Lichfield Festival, Lichfield Arts, and Lichfield Garrick Theatre. The network is open to all cultural organisations, creatives, practitioners, educational settings and community groups within Lichfield and the surrounding areas.
Beacon exists to:
-
Develop the public's knowledge of cultural activities and reduce barriers to access.
-
Build increased communication, community, and collaboration.
-
Advocate for Lichfield's creative and cultural sector at Local Authority and Government Level.
Focussed on building connection and delivering impact, meetings will be held every 1-2 months, both in-person and online. This will allow members to work together towards removing barriers to access within Lichfield, and collaborating for greater results, drawing on the strengths of members and pooling resources where appropriate.
The steering group, featuring representatives of a number of organisations, will meet regularly to drive the launch and development of the LCEP in line with members' desires, meeting less regularly as the LCEP gains momentum.
Meetings are currently on hold until September 2026 as we review the next steps for the LCEP to make an impact in the local area. To be kept in the loop about future meetings and the development of the network, you can join our mailing list here.
