meet new people, broaden your horizons

Volunteer with Us

Lichfield Festival is a charity that provides inspiring multi-arts experiences for anyone and everyone in Staffordshire and beyond. We aim to inspire creativity through performance and participation with diverse events and activity ranging from dance to drama, classical music to comedy and folk to family workshops.

Volunteer roles are various and low commitment – you choose when you can volunteer for us and there’s no minimum amount that you need to volunteer. Most of the volunteering happens at our three Festivals (Lichfield Literature in March, the main Summer Festival in July and the Chamber Festival in October) with volunteers taking on duties such as ticket checking, box office, programme selling, stewarding and helping to set up events and take them down. There are also opportunities to get involved with office admin and events throughout the year.

We send out requests for volunteers before each festival and also when we need volunteers for specific tasks. These requests are sent out by email and the team then works to match availability with a rota to ensure everyone gets chance to volunteer at the events they’d like to.

Apply to be a volunteer

The Festival is the perfect way to meet new people, broaden your horizons and get involved in the creative arts first-hand.  You do not need any specific skills or qualifications as training will be given - all we ask for is passion, enthusiasm and reliability.

There are no other stipulations other than you must be 18+ if you want to help behind the bar.
