Young Artist Series

Japanese guitarist, Tohi Harada, is studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London supported by a generous scholarship, and is the recipient of many prizes at international competitions.

He took up the guitar at the age of 3, and during his childhood in Japan, he won first place in more than ten junior competitions. In 2019, he was awarded 1st Prize at the East End International Guitar Competition in Japan, which led to the opportunity to release his first debut album ‘To-i’ in 2020, which received a special ‘Recording Prize.’

Already much in demand for his rich musical style in Japan, here and abroad, Tohi appears with us courtesy of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Recital Scheme.

His programme today features an eclectic mix of works, including pieces by Dowland, Walton and J.S. Bach.
