Lichfield Dances

Lichfield Dances was the flagship of our Learning and Participation activity for 2022 and developed the idea that everyone should be able to experience and be inspired by free to attend dance activity. Lichfield Dances included two main elements: a Day of Dance, held during our Summer Festival, and a Schools Dance Programme.

For our Schools Dance Programme, 3 West Midlands Dance Artists designed and delivered workshops on the theme of ‘Celebration’ to 3 schools (one school per artist), culminating in co-created pieces of choreography/movement that were performed during our Summer Festival.

At our Day of Dance, 5 Dance Artists with links to the West Midlands delivered free-to-attend outdoor dance workshops in a variety of styles. We worked with Lichfield Arts to deliver the Day of Dance within their popular Fuse Festival Arena.
