A rare chance to look back on the history of one of the world’s finest chamber groups, as the longest-serving members of the Brodsky Quartet discuss their memoirs.
In the England’s north-east industrial heartland a string quartet is formed by four kids, including 10-year-old Jacqueline Thomas. Her book Jacksons, Monk & Rowe and the Brodsky Quartet paints a vivid picture of the passion behind the early years. Meanwhile, Paul Cassidy is growing up in war-torn Northern Ireland. Get Beethoven! (and sequel, Got Beethoven) recount his escape through music to London and the next forty years in the group’s history.
