Revered historical writer Alison Weir returns to the Festival to discuss her latest fiction book, The Cardinal.

In it, she tells the story of Cardinal Wolsey – his incredible rise to power and his tragic fall. Delving beyond the splendour and political machinations of the Tudor court, Weir skilfully reveals the secrets of Wolsey’s private life, the woman he loved devotedly, and the deep-rooted bond between him and the King.
