Headshot of Ben Benton.‘Ben Benton is the rarest of beasts, in that he both cooks and writes beautifully’ – Meera Sodha

A chef’s tour of the best and most innovative foods in Britain sees Ben Benton on a mission. British food is usually seen as a dire affair – if people think of it at all, they picture fish and chips, tea and cakes, stiff sandwiches and limp vegetables. But the truth is that British food today is one of the world’s most diverse cuisines, and Benton is setting out to catalogue the best dishes from across the country – from Black Isle to the Balti Triangle, from Liverpool to Land’s End. Whether sampling seafood on the coast of Northern Ireland or jollof rice in an Essex carpark, join Ben for a delectable tour celebrating the extraordinary variety of cultures and people in Britain today, a moreish adventure that offers a chef’s perspective on how to find and cook delicious food where you live.

Ben Benton is a chef, food writer and co-host of the Go-To Food podcast. He has cooked at Rochelle Canteen and the Dock Kitchen and was head chef at LeCoq, before co-authoring Max’s Sandwich Book and writing for Vittles, The Guardian, The Spectator and The Daily Telegraph.
