Black Dyke Band – Christmas Concert

If you’re looking for something to warm the pre-Christmas cockles of your heart, look no further than the world-renowned Black Dyke Band’s visit to the Festival as part of our 2024 Christmas celebrations!

Playing a selection of traditional brass band and Christmas favourites, the glorious surroundings of Lichfield Cathedral will be filled with the Black Dyke Band’s unique sound, as the 13-time European Champion winners, 30-time British Open 1^st prize winners and 24-time National Champions of Great Britain make a debut Festival appearance.

With a history dating back to 1816, this exceptional ensemble (under long-standing Music Director, Professor Nicholas Childs)  has rightfully earned its place as a standout in the realm of brass bands. Renowned for its exceptional musicality, the Black Dyke Band holds the distinction of being the most recorded band in the world, with over 370 recordings (currently!) to its name.
