After their stunning debuts at the 2022 Festival, we’re delighted to welcome back the superb talents of our now Associate Artists, violinist and vocalist Lizzie Ball and world-renowned pianist and Ronnie Scott’s Artistic Director, James Pearson.
Their 2023 visit sees the return of the Festival’s Celebration series, with an in-depth tour through the back catalogue of hit songs by the sensational singer-songwriters Carole King and Joni Mitchell and the late, great Burt Bacharach, who wrote for a Who’s Who of talent in the 1960s and beyond, including Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick, Cilla Black, Sir Tom Jones and The Carpenters.
Featuring songs such as King’s You’ve Got A Friend and (You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman, Mitchell’s Both Sides Now and River, and Bacharach’s Do You Know The Way To San José, Walk On By, I’ll Never Fall In Love Again and Close To You, not to mention some of his unforgettable film music, this will be a glamorous night of special arrangements and vocal virtuosity, packed with numbers that are sparkling jewels in the firmament of popular song.
