HOWL

HOWL is a nine-voice all-female vocal group from diverse musical backgrounds covering folk, opera and musical theatre. Brought together through a love of complex, lush and haunting vocal music, they perform original compositions and new arrangements of folk songs.

The rich programme for this performance will include traditional folk songs from the British Isles, Venezuela and Spain, alongside new work by Grammy-award winning musician, Caroline Shaw, and their own arrangement of Ewan McColl’s beautiful Nobody Knew She Was There. The group weave field recordings through their live shows, and the performance will also include songs and soundscapes captured as part of their recent collaboration with nature writer Robert McFarlane exploring the lives of nocturnal creatures.
