A former Festival Young Artist who is now taking the classical piano world by storm, Junyan Chen shot onto the international stage by winning 2nd Prize in the hugely prestigious 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition, via a series of stunning recitals and triumphant Final performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4.
Now in demand across the world, having appeared as concerto soloist with the Philharmonia and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and in recital across Germany and at the Wigmore Hall, Junyan returns to the Festival to close our 2026 season with a typically charismatic performance of works by Rachmaninoff, alongside Earl Wild’s sensational and virtuosic Etudes on themes by George Gershwin.
