THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
The Metronomes Steel Orchestra perform at various events all over the UK, from Festivals to award ceremonies, as well as touring abroad to Europe and the Caribbean. Amongst their other notable achievements are performances at the Royal Albert Hall, on BBC Songs of Praise, and at the opening ceremony of the Channel Tunnel.
As well as performing, Metronomes teach steel pan music, promote carnival arts and Caribbean heritage, and run weekly classes and teaching in schools. Community involvement is a huge part of their mission, working with young people, bringing families together and helping to reduce social isolation especially amongst the elderly and single parents.
The highlights of their year (now including the Lichfield Festival!) are, of course, the Notting Hill Carnival where they have a float in the Carnival procession and Panorama, the annual steel band competition that kicks off the Carnival each year (of which they are four-time winners).
An outdoor event in the stunning Courtyard at Swinfen Hall Hotel.
