
Nitin Sawhney CBE recipient of the Ivor Novello 2017 Lifetime Achievement award, is one of the most distinctive and versatile musical voices around today – a world-class producer, songwriter, touring artist, BBC Radio and club DJ, multi-instrumentalist, theatrical, dance, videogame and orchestral composer, as well as a cultural/political commentator.
Holding 7 honorary doctorates from UK universities along with 3 fellowships, he also sits on the board of multiple charities. Sawhney has received over 20 major national and international awards and is a member of Oscars, BAFTA and Grammys. He is also the Chair of the PRS Foundation, the UK’s funding body for new music and talent development. He has recorded multiple albums, film soundtracks and compilations, encompassing over 70 film and TV scores – including Mowgli for Netflix and BBC’s epic Human Planet series – and his last album, ‘Immigrants’ for Sony Masterworks, was released to great acclaim in 2021. Sawhney is currently working on a new album for release later this year along with TV & film projects.
