Former Festival Artistic Director Paul Spicer’s biography of composer and conductor Sir Arthur Bliss has won awards in both the UK and USA; this talk marks the 50th anniversary of Bliss’s death.
Paul will talk about Bliss’ life – despite his musical training being cut short by World War I, he went on to become Master of the Queen’s Music for over 20 years – and the full breadth of his works, from the great ballets and operas for stage and television, to his stunning orchestral and choral music.
