A century before the Kit-Kat club re-opened its doors in London’s West End, the underground dives of 20s Berlin exploded with the risk-taking, risqué songs that became the original Cabaret movement.
Performed by the coolest singers in town, including a young Marlene Dietrich, audiences crowded around tiny tables, listening transfixed to songs about government corruption, sexual freedoms and the futility of war.
Tonight, the inimitable duo of Associate Artist Jessica Walker and Joseph Atkins relight that cabaret flame, taking you on a journey through some of the most daring songs of the last century, with numbers by Kurt Weill, Spoliansky, Hollaender, Kander and Ebb, and the duo themselves!
