YOUNG ARTIST SERIES
The Alkyona Quartet present imaginative interpretations of both well-known and hidden gems of the string quartet repertoire. They are well-known for their warm audience connection and vivacious performances, and are ‘as vibrant as their “Kingfisher” namesake’. They have performed at leading venues including St John’s, Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall. Their 2022 programme features Beethoven Quartet in D major, Op. 18, No. 3 and Mendelssohn’s Quartet in F minor, Op.80, the last major work written by the composer before his death.
