XUEFEI YANG guitar & MARIA VEGA flamenco – Silk and Fire: Bridging cultures along the Silk Road from the Orient to Iberia

Returning to the Festival after their acclaimed Festival debut in 2021, world-renowned guitarist, Xuefei Yang is reunited once again by flamenco sensation, Maria Vega.

The first internationally acclaimed Chinese guitarist, Fei has been named one of the 100 Top Classical Musicians of Our Time (Classic FM) and ranked among the Top Six Guitarists of the Century by BBC Music Magazine. Alongside the sublime flamenco dancer extraordinaire, Maria Vega, they will present another unique fusion of dance and ‘East meets West’ music – in their programme Silk and Fire – combining traditional Spanish and South American works by De Falla, Albeniz and Paco Peña, together with Fei’s own arrangement Chinese-inspired folk songs.
