Announcing: Lichfield Festival Friends

This month sees a name change of Lichfield Festival’s supporters’ club, previously known as the Lichfield Festival Association, to “Lichfield Festival Friends”.

Lichfield Festival began in 1981, and has become the Midland’s leading multi-arts Festival with a reputation for bringing world class music, dance, comedy, theatre and arts to the region. The “LFA” started soon after, to support the Festival through practical help at events, and financial contributions from membership subscriptions and fundraising events.  Over the years it has become one of the Festival’s main sponsors, particularly as financial cutbacks have reduced Arts Council and commercial funding.

The name-change is designed to show more clearly what the organization does, and was approved by the membership in a recent poll, after this year’s AGM had to be cancelled because of the pandemic.
