Our 2022 Literature Festival begins…

Ahead of this week’s Literature Festival, budding local journalist, George Anderson, gives us his personal picks:

Looking ahead to the upcoming Lichfield Literature Festival, I’m looking forward to Jay Rayner’s My Last Supper… event. The renowned food critic, with a sharp palate and equally sharp tongue, will finally answer one of his most asked questions, as well as discuss other anecdotes from his book by the same title. Rayner will be in Lichfield at The Hub at St. Mary’s on Friday 25th March at 5pm and 8pm, so there’s plenty of time to start thinking about what your own “last supper” might look like ahead of the show, where Rayner will ask brave audience members for their thoughts. For food lovers, this promises to be box office entertainment.

Perhaps if you’re a budding journalist like myself, then Justin Webb’s The Gift of a Radio might be of interest to you. An award-winning journalist with nearly 40 years of experience, Webb has reported on some of the biggest stories in that time, from the collapse of the Soviet Union to the election of Barack Obama. If you love your history, enjoy a memoir, or want to know more about life in the world of journalism, there will be something for everyone in this talk. Webb will discuss his new memoir on Sunday 27th March at the Guildhall at 5:30pm.
