Mica Paris

Soul reviving, joyful and energetic. This concert was by far the best concert I have ever been to, Mica never failed to create a collective atmosphere where everyone was involved in the joy of the music. The audience was never left out of the performance and was always a part of the experience throughout the evening. Mica Paris did not fail to wow the audience with her phenomenal vocal range and the fact she sang throughout the entirety of the evening without an interval!

During the evening, hit songs such as My One Temptation, A Change is Gonna Come and Mica’s new song Mamma Said were performed which was especially dedicated to and written about her grandparents. These carefully selected songs were chosen by Mica as these were songs that helped her get through the difficult times and throughout the pandemic. A range of music was performed throughout the evening from covered songs to Mica’s own albums Gospel and So Good. People that attended the concert described the experience as ‘soul reviving’ and ‘80s pop infused with soul and gospel’. Personally, I would describe the evening as an escape from the current reality and a highlight to my year after not being able to go to a concert for so long. Mica also described that during the pandemic she was ‘ready to sing in Tesco’s’ because of the frustration of not being to perform and share her passion for music.

The music performed on the evening gave people hope and peace when engaging in the concert as the audience was infatuated with the message behind the music. A Change is Gonna Come nearly bought me and others to tears due to how beautifully Mica performed and made people feel hopeful from the power of her voice. Overall, the concert was phenomenal, and Mica was such a kind, friendly and beautiful soul as she met many of the audience after the concert, still can’t believe I met her myself! Would highly recommend going to see Mica Paris!
