Amy Jeffs – Storyland: A New Mythology of Britain

Soaked in mist and magic, Storyland is a gloriously written and illustrated mythology that breathes new life into the oldest legends and wildest landscapes of medieval Britain. From ancient stories of the Creation and Noah’s Flood up to the Norman Conquest, Storyland walks readers through a still-recognisable landscape in the footsteps of Lear and Cordelia, Arthur and Merlin, and Edward the Martyr and Gogmagog, all illustrated with the author’s own dramatic and beautiful linocuts.

Dr Amy Jeffs is an art historian specialising in the Middle Ages as well as an artist. She is currently a Fellow at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art. Her writing is often accompanied by her own linocut and wood-engraved prints. Amy is a regular contributor to Country Life Magazine, and is based in Somerset. This is her first book.
