In partnership with the Lichfield and District Ramblers, this year’s six-mile Ramble will start at Darnford Park car park, before taking in local lanes, the canal towpath and Whittington village. Appropriate footwear and clothing required – and please bring refreshment for halfway through!
Ramble Information:
Length of walk: 6.5 miles
Starting point: Darnford Park car park, at the junction of Ryknild Street and Tamworth Road, Lichfield.
Car parking is limited due to the size of the car park. However, there is a very good local bus service that stops close by (marked on map).
Public transport: take the X65 from Lichfield to Tamworth, leaving Lichfield Bus Station at 1320 (please check exact bus times in case of timetable change) and alight at the Darnford Park bus stop.
The walk will visit local lanes and footpaths, fields, the canal towpath and the village of Whittington. It is an easy and fairly flat walk with no stiles.
Please bring suitable footwear and clothing (with one eye on the weather!), and your own refreshments for a break half-way round.
This walk is organised and led on behalf of the Lichfield Festival by the local Lichfield and District Ramblers Group.
