Join Lichfield historian and tour guide, Jono Oates, on a regal tour of Lichfield!
Lichfield has been described a royal, loyal city and today’s tour features many of the royal visitors to Lichfield over the centuries including both Elizabeth I & II, Charles I and George IV.
The tour includes visits to the statues of monarchs, the historic Market Square, protected by a Royal Charter, pubs and inns named after monarchs and locates the statue of Queen Victoria at Lichfield Cathedral. Find out how many oxen were devoured during the visit of King Richard II in 1397 and how Charles II came to the rescue of Lichfield Cathedral after the English Civil War.
This gentle walking tour is based around the city centre, and led by costumed host ‘King Jono of Lichfield’!
